My
sister-in-law claims she knew someone who heard about a woman who told her
husband that she still loved him, but had decided she was a lesbian - she
wanted to be with women sexually. He had a sex change operation in order to
stay with her. Three months after the surgery, his wife left him... for
another man.
That's (probably) a myth, a rumor, a legend. However:
- I
know a man whose wife ran off with his best friend. The best friend came
by a couple weeks later to borrow some tools.
- I
know a woman whose husband moved out on her, saying that he needed
"to be alone." The next week, he used her credit card to join
a dating service.
- I
know a man whose wife left him, and then during the divorce proceedings,
expected him to pay half of the cost of her new diaphragm.
- My
friend's mother confided to her best friend that she thought her husband
was having an affair. The best friend reassured her, convincing her that
it wasn't possible. She later found out that the husband and best friend
were seeing each other for several years. The two women are no longer
best friends.
- I
know a woman who left her husband and children for a younger man because
she "didn't like being a mother anymore." Within 2 months, her
new beau impregnated her.
