Scenes from Killary Harbour, Connemara
by Kevin O'Cuinn

1.
Last night's moon hung over Killary Harbour
like a giant disco ball.
A tour group gathered on the beach to Tai-Chi,
and then Tai-Bo. It was only a question of time before
they would YMCA.

2.
The weather broke here today,
and fell in smithereens all around.
What a mess.
I picked up a piece, seeing right away that
it was indeed a rare gem:
high precipitation from the Azores.
So happy was I with my find,
that I carried it carefully home
and placed it in the freezer,
beside the Ben and Jerry's.

3.
The dolphins have developped a taste
for salmon from the fish-farm.
The fish-farmers fire warning shots over their heads.
So the dolphins skirt the perimeter,
feigning interest in mackerel.
And waiting.
